About the Position:

Incumbent will serve as a Health Technician (Orthopedic) with the Department of Surgery at the Ireland Army Community Hospital.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience required:

To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized experience is defined as:

Work that involved treatment of patients with orthopedic problems and had sufficient skills to fabricate, modify and remove casts and splints, fit crutches and canes providing instructions to patients on proper care and use; assisting Orthopedic Surgeons, Orthopedic Physician Assistant or Podiatrist with orthopedic surgery and sufficient to pass instruments to the surgeon during major surgical procedures performed in an operating room.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of Casting and Support Devices
  • Knowledge of Orthopedic Clinic Procedures

Must have completed a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, with major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position. (Must submit copy of transcripts)
