As part of Army Human Resources Command (HRC) Chief Information Office perform highly advanced in-depth computer systems analysis work. Work involves planning, budgeting, and analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems. The candidate applies analytical skills to support the development, enhancement and maintenance of technical architecture and software solutions that range from simple to extremely complex applications. This requires the individual to work with process improvement processes, and projects regarding, but not limited to, advanced computing technologies, operations, logistics, planning, and requirements deployment. Competent to work on complex projects and applies a comprehensive knowledge of requirements gathering concepts, practices, and procedures.
Successful track record in providing technical leadership in delivering architecture, engineering, and operation services.
Ability to synthesize solution design information, architectural principles, available technologies, third-party products, and industry standards to formulate a system architecture that meets client requirements and can be delivered within the desired timeframe.
Experience identifying potential design, performance, security, and support problems, including ability to identify technical risks/challenges and develop relevant mitigation strategies.
Extensive knowledge of the broad spectrum of technology areas, including technology trends, forthcoming industry standards, new products, and the latest solution development techniques; ability to leverage this knowledge to formulate technical solution strategy.
Proven ability to develop capacity planning models to be used as input to strategic decision making.
Hands-on experience in creating complex target storage layout with an emphasis on reliability, scalability and serviceability.
Understanding of Java and/or C++ in a Linux data center environment.
Experience owning and operating multiple instances of a mission critical service.
Familiarity with Agile development methodology and Test-Driven development.
An outstanding team player with excellent communication skills.
Possess the ability to effectively influence others and deliver on commitments in a fast paced environment.
Execute strategic initiatives by leading implementation of next-generation product initiatives and prototypes.
Produce High-Level and Low-Level Design (HLD/LLD) Documents, Test Plans, and Executive Presentations of Architectures.
Partner with other technologists, gauge technology, market dynamics and competitive trends to ensure HRC continues to expand and succeed within the HR Domain.
Research competitive landscape and dissect thought-leading technologies. Create disruptive solutions.
Collaborate with product management and product architecture to define strategy and scope of HRC products and services. Identify portfolio synergies and gaps.
Work cross-functionally with across all business functions to bring innovative solutions to market.
Deliver new products, concepts, and proposals on-time, balancing needs of end customers with time to market and critical business milestones.
Participate in beta programs, customer engagements and partner programs.
Contribute to a culture of modern and open source software development methodologies and architectural excellence.
Drive technology and knowledge sharing across the business and product units.
Provide leadership for projects and mentor others.
Liaise with engineering, development teams and Executive Leadership.
Produce white papers and presentations to benefit the customer.
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience. 4 additional years of related experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to possess an active Department of Defense Security Clearance (interim Secret minimum – day 1 requirement) – SAIC will process this for the individual.
Meet the IAT-II qualifications as outlined in DoD 8570-01.M for base line certification (i.e. Security+). Must be able to obtain a CompTIA Security+ certification that is enrolled into the CompTIA Continuing Education program before start date
Minimum of 10 years of IT infrastructure solution architecture and service delivery experiences, including solution areas in data center operations, server (mainframe, Oracle, Windows, Linux), LAN/WAN network, storage, virtualization, cloud, database, and security. Strong experience leading the design and integration of enterprise-level technical solutions.
5 years of in-depth experience in VMWare and other virtualization technologies.
5 years of strong experience with enterprise storage solutions (SAN/NAS) and associated thin provisioning, replication, automated tiering, continuous backup solutions. Must have direct experience with EMC storage systems.
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in computer science, computer information systems, engineering, or management information systems is required. 9 years of RELEVANT experience can be substituted for a degree.
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering,
Must be a highly effective communicator (both verbal and written) and possess excellent analytical and problem- solving skills
A self-starter, performing day-to-day tasks with minimal supervision but working effectively with immediate and cross- functional team members
