Position Purpose This position is responsible for establishing partnerships with key business clients to identify opportunities for improving processes and business results via technology. Incumbents work with the business to develop technology strategies and capital plans that meet business needs and support the company’s goals and objectives. This position acts as a strategic partner for the business areas and is accountable for portfolio delivery.
Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree (preferably in computer science, engineering, or business) or an alternative combination of education and experience that results in equivalent job knowledge. Minimum of ten years’ experience in a dynamic business and/or IT environment.
Requires depth of understanding of business processes and systems which are necessary to identify business needs, evaluate options, recommend solutions, secure funding and coordinate successful implementation.
Preferred Qualifications MBA or master’s degree is desirable. Excellent leadership, strategic thinking capabilities and the ability to utilize technology solutions to improve business processes. Strong customer relations, prioritization, organization, written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work with senior management in the development of processes, policies and procedures. Understanding of Information Technology and Project Life Cycle and methodologies.
Job Description Works with a specific business unit(s) to maximize value of technology by establishing annual IT investment plans, identifying impact and estimating costs to align IT delivery activity to business unit activity.
Works with business unit(s) to evaluate current business processes and system to identify continuous improvement opportunities. Serves on Steering Committees for the projects in assigned business area(s).
Proactively provides strategic advice to business units on the use of cross-company, as well as area specific, technology to improve business results. Drives the development of business cases and technology strategy within the business.
Facilitates the technology demand management processes. Works with peers to guide prioritization of requests across the company.
Participates in the Technology Portfolio Management Committee processes. Responsible for steering proposals through appropriate approval processes. Provides project portfolio oversight on objectives and outcomes.
Act as an escalation point for issue (incident, problem, change) management to ensure business is kept informed of plans.
Provides input on defining and developing tools and templates for business analysis. Works with the IT management to monitor and evaluate overall quality of delivery. Collaborates with IT management on the research of new technologies for viability.
Maintains awareness of technology evolution and new capabilities. Participates on vendor advisory boards, special interest groups, etc. as appropriate.
Prepares budgets for area of responsibility and assists in the preparation of plans for the department. Manages area to adhere to approved budgets. Oversees the development and maintenance of program schedules, resource allocation and budgets or forecasts.
Ensures that IT Service Management processes are followed. May serve in the capacity of Process Owner or Change Advisory Board member. Ensures compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls within area of responsibility.
All other duties and projects as assigned.
Work Conditions Normal office environment with some visits to fields locations.
Physical Effort Primarily sitting with optional standing/walking and moderate lifting.
