GE Appliances, a Haier company Senior Architect - Information Security in Louisville, Kentucky

Role Summary/Purpose:

The Senior Architect Information Security will lead and participate in projects that require knowledge and expertise across multiple domains within IT Security. They will be responsible for securing the enterprise by determining security requirements, and then planning, implementing, and testing security systems and platforms. The candidate will also support business objectives utilizing a DevSecOps approach, leveraging security automation for application development & infrastructure projects. They will be responsible for detecting and responding to cybersecurity incidents and events impacting the GE Appliances business.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading, developing, and enforcing compliance with GE Appliances Information Security standards and policies across Business & IT projects

  • Identify technology risks and independently evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of complex information technology and security controls across IT infrastructure, cloud services, networks, and security systems to help manage risks that could impact the company

  • Conduct software security assessments including threat modeling, security / penetration testing and vulnerability assessments

  • Responsible for assessing the security of GE Appliances leading-edge application and web technologies and work with global development teams to define remediation activities

  • Maintain knowledge of complex industry trends, current security issues, and security technologies Provide complex technical guidance, oversight, and enforcement of security directives, policies, standards, plans, and procedures

  • Conduct digital security incident detection and response, focusing on structured incidents and low-risk events

  • Act as a liaison and evangelist to encourage strong security practices across all projects, code development, infrastructure, and operations

  • Mentor junior team members

  • Preferred

  • Bachelors (Computer Science)


  • Required

  • 5 years: Project Management experience

  • 7 to 10 years: Experience working in or understanding of Cyber Security, Security Architecture, Information Security, and Information Technology

  • Enterprise experience supporting organizations of 10,000+ users

  • Experience with Cloud Architecture

  • Proven experience using Agile methodologies to deliver business value and drive significant transformation across an organization

  • Change oriented – actively generates process improvements; champions and drives change initiatives; confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways

  • A team-focused mentality with the proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders

  • Preferred

  • Awareness of the latest cyber security developments and trends

  • CISSP, CEH, OSCP, PMP or other related Information Security and Project Management certifications

  • Knowledge supporting enterprise platforms is a plus (O365, Jenkins, Puppet, Active Directory, Palo Alto Firewalls)

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on the ability to effectively influence others

  • Strong analytical and strong problem solving skills - communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions
