Kforce has a client that is searching for a SQL DBA in Louisville, KY.Duties Include:

  • Imports and exports data from disparate systems meeting business end user needs

  • Administers and controls the organization's database resources including multiple servers

  • Performs data migrations between servers as growth requires

  • Assists in server setup for new SQL Servers, by providing needed drive sizing, and memory requirements

  • Creates new application service accounts and new end user accounts as needed, following the Principle of Least Privilege practice ensuring Microsoft Security password requirements are met

  • Performs all necessary database maintenance, index fragmentation, etc

  • Works with external vendors resolving any missing SQL Database Logs for automated log restore process

  • Works with Windows System Engineers ensuring all databases have current validated backups

  • Collaborates with system engineers, and applications developers designing databases, schemas and data dictionaries to ensure data integrity, security, optimizing performance and assisting in managing storage requirements

  • Recovers corrupted data and eliminates data redundancy

  • Operates diagnostic tools and other techniques tuning systems and improving database performance

  • Creates physical database tables, typically based on designs developed in collaboration with programmers, analysts and users

  • Builds scripts, triggers, stored procedures, ad-hoc queries and other processes automating data movement between systems

  • Monitors automated and manually initiated SQL Agent Jobs to ensure proper and timely operation within routine and unscheduled job cycles

  • Participates in team projects as deemed necessary

  • Monitors unassigned and assigned service desk support tickets resolving end user issues in a timely manner

  • Supports all federal reporting projects, providing data extracts as needed

  • BS/BA

  • Industry certification required in at least one database platform (Informix, MS SQL)

  • 7 years in a progressive information systems environment; 6 as a database administrator

  • Familiarity with SQL Server tools, SSMS, SSIS, SSRS and SSAS

  • Healthcare and home health industry experience desired

  • Must have strong customer service and communication skills

  • Effective ability to work both independently and within a team environment

  • Effective training ability for mentoring co-workers and end users

  • Ability to prioritize and complete projects within deadlines

  • Motivated, self-starter with excellent problem solving abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to meet regular time and attendance requirements
