Facilities Technical Supervisor, is responsible for the execution of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contracts on site, ensuring that operations, maintenance, and vendor management standards are met in a cost effective, safe and efficient manner. The responsibilities include supervision of all electrical staff assigned to mechanical operations, programming, monitoring, alarm response, and other contracted activities. The Supervisor will interface with the client and Operations and Management teams on all issues concerning execution of contract duties, to include:

  • Hiring, training, and scheduling of electrical staff needed to fulfill contractual obligations.

  • Programming and monitoring of alarm responses to electrical operations, as well as-

  • Responsibility for electrical, mechanical, fire, security systems, etc. as per contractual specifications.

  • Maintaining and updating all assigned systems.

  • Developing and implementing employee training and development plans.

  • Providing management reports as requested by the O&M team and the client.

  • Ensuring compliance with all city, state, and federal license and certification requirements.

  • Reviewing all work to assure it is performed in accordance with established safety procedures.

  • Responsible for managing the pay and work schedule of all electrical staff to include the budgeted use of overtime.

  • Managing and providing guidance to electrical staff in order to facilitate 24-hour operations.

Qualifications

Technical education with 7 plus years of related experience. Demonstrated leadership and management experience. Knowledge and experience with EHS and regulatory requirements. Knowledge and understanding of CMMS systems (demonstrated knowledge of MS Office and MS Project highly desirable).

Communication Skills

Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees. Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Financial Knowledge

Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.

Reasoning Ability

Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to conduct financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports.

Demonstrated organizational and planning skills. Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, machine and process drawings. Have the ability to sketch or redline existing drawings. Ability to manage multiple priorities or projects simultaneously and keep them progressing to completion.

Other Skills and Abilities

Able to manage and train entry-level personnel. High level craft knowledge and skill to accurately assign and complete a job. Knowledge and understanding of the maintenance processes and proper use of the work order system, planning, scheduling and storeroom processes. Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
