BAE Systems Traffic Anst Sr in Louisville, Kentucky

Manages subordinates responsible for movement of material, crane activities and packaging. Responsible for coordinating the movement of material throughout the site and overseeing crane moves and lifts.

Ensures compliance with government category regulations and procedures on all outbound shipments. Prepares export documentation in support of international shipments to ensure material is transported in compliance with international licensing requirements. Works with designated brokers to ensure exports are transacted through US Customs effectively to minimize risk of fine or seizure. Maintains export files for the Department and is the subject matter expert for International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) regulations and Automated Export System (AES).

Works with manufacturing engineering and shop personnel to develop/maintain lift plans for items that are 10k lbs. or greater and/or require to be flipped in the manufacturing process, adhearing to all safety regulations and policies.

Develops, implements, and maintains shipping procedures for domestic, export, government and hazardous material shipments. Presents improved processes for departmental and general business practices to management. Ensures that hazardous materials are properly handled and labeled for shipping.

Documents and resolves issues related to shipping. Investigates, negotiates, and files all freight claims for loss or damage.

Manages the shipment of items and product through the Company transportation contractor to ensure delivery of material and customer deliverables.

Maintains shipping records per BAE retention records procedure.

Provides shipping/receiving support.

Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies.

Shares responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.

Minimum Education And Experience

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills And Education

Must have working knowledge of import/export procedures, crane operations, and hazardous materials.

Knowledge of military traffic procedures is preferred.

Considerable analytical ability to determine best methods of moving material, crane lifts and flips, packaging and shipping.

Significant communication skills to interact with subordinates, Supervisors and Managers.

Ability to obtain appropriate Security Clearance required.Ability to obtain Advanced Hazardous Materials Certification required.
