Manufacturing Maintenance & Facilities Manager, 3rd Shift
The GE Appliances Manager, Maintenance & Facilities - Laundry 3rd Shift leads and directs a staff of maintenance and janitorial employees along with coordination of all maintenance activities. This key team ensures that the plant is current with preventative maintenance and ready for production start up the following day. What you will Do
Supervise hourly bargaining unit maintenance and janitorial staff.
Determine schedules in conjunction with developing, interpreting and implementing policies and procedures.
Own staff evaluation, hiring and termination recommendations.
Provide coaching, mentoring and address complaints.
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal codes related to safe maintenance work practices as measured through internal department compliance audits and safety records.
Work cross functionally to coordinate all maintenance activities in the assigned area with other departments to ensure company objectives are being met as measured by key performance indicators.
Balances workloads and resources to achieve maximum results.
Provide technical leadership to team as needed to reach appropriate problem resolutions
Provide aid in troubleshooting and downtime response – including electrical wiring, machine controls hardware/software, PLC and high/low voltage power distribution.
Respond to emergencies as requested, coordinate activities with other responders.
Directs the team in the utilization of resources to make necessary repairs in a cost-effective, timely manner.
Ensures that staff is trained in complex maintenance activities and are following standard operating procedures as measured by skill assessments and work order audits.
What you need to Succeed
Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent technical experience, including military, with graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalent.
5 years or more experience in operation and maintenance of a production facility
2 years or more experience in the supervision of manufacturing operators, skilled trades and/or maintenance employees.
Prior successful leadership experience including influencing teams of skilled maintenance employees.
Working knowledge in software packages such as MS Office Suite (Project, Word, Excel and Outlook)
Familiar with OSHA and EPA Requirements related to maintenance
Exhibited effective verbal and written communication skills
History of using positive management skills in the building of successful, unified teams
Working knowledge of principles involving mechanical and electrical design, PLC’s, maintenance and repair fundamentals of automated industrial production equipment.
- 5 years minimum experience in the supervision of employees in a union environment
The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats.
Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
