Position Purpose

The System Regulation & Operations Technician Intern will complete tasks and learn skills in relation to the construction, installation, inspection, operation and maintenance of Company gas measurement and regulation facilities and associated equipment, and large commercial and industrial metering and regulating facilities. This position will provide opportunities for a student to apply what they have learned in school towards a career path and to learn from an experienced team of energy industry professionals.

To be eligible for this position, applicants must be enrolled in a two-year Associate degree program in an applicable field. (Industrial Maintenance, Diesel Technology, Engineering and Electrical Technology, Advanced Manufacturing Technology, etc.)

Education & Experience To be considered, all applicants must be enrolled in and pursuing an Associate degree in an applicable technical program. Applicable programs typically include Industrial Maintenance, Diesel Technology, Engineering and Electronics Technology, and Advance Manufacturing Technology. A minimum 2.5 GPA is required for eligibility.

Ability to troubleshoot and analyze problems is important.

Job Description

Be knowledgeable of and follow all safety rules, corporate policies, procedures and practices.

Perform manual labor duties that include, but are not limited to, digging, backfilling, loading and unloading supplies, tools, materials and equipment.

Participate in all assigned training assignments including fire fighting and first aid.

Perform various maintenance duties such as, but not limited to, cleaning, painting, and lubricating of various valves, piping and equipment.

Learn and become knowledgeable of applicable government and Company rules, regulations and practices related to the installation of gas piping and operation of metering and regulating stations.

Assist in the performance of duties related to the installation, operation, testing and maintenance of meters, customer regulators and over-pressure protective devices in large commercial and industrial settings.

Compile information and generate reports, forms and documents as required.

Assist in the turning on and off of gas for large commercial and industrial customers, including purging piping systems

Represent the Company to the community with the attention to the highest standard of conduct, appearance and attitude.

Work Conditions Hours will be somewhat flexible around the intern's school schedule with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Full-time hours could potentially be available if the student's schedule allows.

Work will be performed in a variety of weather conditions and seasonal temperatures. Exposure to seasonal temperature extremes and precipitation may be common.

Physical Effort The position can be physically demanding at times requiring heavy manual labor performed in varying weather conditions. The intern must be able to perform all physical requirements of the position.
