As a Laborer you will become a member of a team of professionals dedicated to producing the finest building materials in the world.
This position resides in Speed Indiana.
What you’ll get to do:
•Follow all plant safety policies and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
•Physically inspect plant properties, where climbing steps, ladders, working in close areas, working in elevated areas, working in adverse weather conditions, etc. and physical exertion is a primary responsibility.
•Use tools/equipment including but not limited to: shovel, broom, jackhammer, sweeper, forklift, bobcat, vacuum truck.
•Observe operation of equipment to ensure continuity of flow, safety, and efficient operation, and to detect malfunctions.
•Detects malfunctions in equipment operations by observing and listening to equipment operations and notifies supervisor of any problems.
•Lift 94 lbs. bags of cement in package warehouse and places on skids for shipping to customers. Must be able to complete process by using fork trucks, hoists or manually.
•Shift work based on assignment and ability to work weekends and holidays required.
•Train in multiple areas of the plant and act as vacancy relief.
•Follow plant and MSHA Safety Policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment. Maintain an awareness of plant environmental standards. Takes corrective action to address minor problems or reports compliance issues to appropriate supervisor for resolution.
Who we are looking for:
•High School Diploma is required, post high school diploma is preferred.
•Previous work experience in a heavy industrial and/or manufacturing environment
•Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong problem solving skills
•Ability to operate mobile equipment.
•Mechanical and/or electrical skills are preferred.
